Music Education For Every Budget

CK Music Arts is committed to making music education affordable for every student. Below are some economical alternatives to private lessons, as well as a complete list of available discounts. Please visit the Rates page for details on each of these options.

1. Online Lessons - If you have a computer with a web camera and a high speed internet connection, you may take private lessons online.

2. Family or Home-Group Lessons - If you have two or more students who would like in-home lessons, you may schedule a group lesson. Group in-home lessons are billed at the same rate as private in-home lessons but the lessons are structured for multiple students. They include group warm-up and instruction, as well as individual instruction as time allows. Up to 5 students may be taught at a time. Group lessons are a good option if:

  • You have more than one child wanting lessons and can only afford lessons for one

  • You and your child (or children) would like to take lessons but you can only afford lessons for one person

  • You and another family (or families) would like to share the cost of lessons

  • You are part of a homeschooling group or educational co-op and would like to introduce music as part of your curriculum

(If you are booking group piano or keyboard lessons and do not have instruments for each student in class, additional keyboards will be provided at a cost of $5 per keyboard per class. Instruments are rented for class time only.)

3. Group Lessons In the Downtown Studio - This option offers the most affordable rates. You may enroll in a group lesson at the studio. Group lessons are offered in 30, 45 or 60 minute lengths and will be tailored to the aims of the students present. Lessons begin with group warm-up and instruction and include individual instruction as time allows.  Any student may start a group lesson by requesting it. Up to 4 additional students may be added as they enroll.

4. Homeschoolers discount - If you are able to schedule lessons Monday through Thursday between 10am and 3pm, you are entitled to a discounted rate. (This option also works for retirees and anyone with an alternative schedule.) In addition to the standard homeschool hours discount, homeschooling families with more than one student taking individual lessons receive additional discounts.

5. Studio packages - There are discounts available for students who purchase in-studio lessons in blocks of 5, 10 or 15.

6. Working Scholarship - There are a limited number of scholarships available to students age 16 or older in exchange for 2 to 10 work hours per week. Tasks include administrative support, studio cleaning and organization and errand running.

7. Barter Exchange - There are a limited number of enrollments made available in exchange for goods or services equal to the value of the lessons.
